About our trucking consultancy
Company Incorporation

Start or Update Your Business

Federal and provincial incorporations, extra-provincial registrations, and corporate changes handled end-to-end.

A federal corporation is registered under the Canada Business Corporations Act and can operate across all of Canada under one name. It provides nationwide name protection — ideal if you plan to expand nationally.

A provincial corporation registers under provincial legislation (e.g., Ontario). Name protection and primary operations are within that province. To operate elsewhere, you add extra-provincial registration.

A corporation formed outside Ontario must register in Ontario before doing business here, ensuring compliance with the Extra-Provincial Corporations Act (EPCA) and transparency for regulators and customers.

We prepare and file all legal documents for director/shareholder updates and legal name changes, and update the CRA as needed so your tax records stay accurate.

We file the change of address with the appropriate provincial or federal registry within the required time so your records stay compliant.

Registering a “doing business as” name lets you market services under an additional brand. We handle filings so you can expand without legal friction.
Canadian Authorities

Operate Legally Across Canada

CVOR/NSC, IFTA, TDG, alcohol/tobacco permits, carrier codes, and more.

CVOR (Ontario)

Required for commercial carriers operating vehicles over 4,500 kg. CVOR helps MTO monitor safety performance and improve road safety.

NSC (Alberta)

Alberta carriers must meet National Safety Code standards to obtain a Safety Fitness Certificate and comply with provincial and federal rules.

IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement)

One license from your base jurisdiction to report and pay motor fuel taxes for interjurisdictional operations across Canadian provinces and most US states.

Dangerous Goods (TDG)

Meet Transportation of Dangerous Goods requirements: staff training/certificates and activity registration in the CID where applicable.

Alcohol / Tobacco Permits

Federal alcohol registration (CRA) for bulk alcohol and Ontario transit permits to move tobacco. We handle the filings end-to-end.

Carrier Code (CBSA / CARM)

Four-character identifier required by CBSA for customs, cargo control and eManifest systems. We assist with CARM account setup.

US Authorities

Cross-Border Authority & Compliance

USDOT/MC, EIN, UCR, SCAC, state accounts & permits, DTOPS, Clearinghouse, and Hazmat.

USDOT identifies interstate motor carriers; MC numbers grant operating authority for regulated commodities or passengers for hire across state lines.

Required for Canadian companies doing business in the U.S. The EIN is the U.S. equivalent of a Canadian business number.

Annual registration and fee based on fleet size for carriers operating commercial vehicles in interstate or international commerce.

Two-to-four-letter code that uniquely identifies transportation companies for US customs and logistics systems.

Certificate of registration for vehicles subject to NY highway use tax before travel on NY public highways.

New York State's credentialing system for Special Hauling and Divisible Loads, including NYSTA and bridge authorities.

Weight-distance tax for intra/interstate commercial vehicles over 26,000 lbs. We register and keep your account in good standing.

Required for a variety of intrastate for-hire operations within Kentucky (truck, bus, limo, TNC, etc.). We handle end-to-end filing.

Set up your CCD account, enroll qualified vehicles, and file weight-mile tax reports. We also obtain one-year permits for out-of-state carriers.

If your vehicle is above the GVW threshold or has 2+ axles (or you tow a trailer), we arrange the necessary trip permits to stay compliant.

myconneCT portal setup to file returns, make payments, and manage business taxes. FEIN required to register.

Assistance with state account setup and CARB-related compliance for eligible fleets.
